Hermana Bloxham - Sisters Conference!

Hey guys!

Wow, what a week! The stress of being a sister training leader is
coming on me haha. It's not too bad! On Mondayy I went on my first
split! It was with Sister Liao, my roommate from the Bronx and right
now haha. I went to her area and we had some good experiences! We were
on our way to a lookup we had and we saw a lady trying to get her car
out of the snow. So we went over to try to help push her out, it
didn't work. So we helped her literally chisel out the ice around her
car until it was all gone so that she could get her car out of the
spot. It took about 45 minutes, but it was super cool to be able to
help her out!

Yesterday was an amazing day! We had our Sisters Conference with
President Morgan and all of the sisters from the whole mission. We now
have 121 sisters in our mission! When he first got here they only had
like 20 sisters! Crazy right!? During all of the talks and trainings
we received, I learned that I really need to live in the moment. I
can't be wishing for things that have already past or things that I am
waiting for. The Lord knows exactly what I need in the exact moment
that I need it. Dwelling on the past never does anyone any good. I
have noticed that throughout my mission I always look back on my last
area or my last companion and I love it so much more than I did while
I was in it. So, I have decided to change that! I am going to love
every minute of the mission that I am in Right Now. Yeah, I will
always remember the amazing times I have had, and the things that I
have learned from each area and companion, but I'm not going to wish
to go back to it anymore.

The Lord has put us in the position that we are in right now for a
reason. We have met the people we were meant to meet, we are learning
to become better, and we are learning to trust in our Father in Heaven
every day.

Proverbs 3:5-7 says;
5 ¶Trust in the Lord with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own
understanding.
6 In all thy ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct thy paths.

I challenge all of you to put your trust in The Lord. If you don't
know how, pray for help and guidance. I promise you that as you put
your complete trust in him to guide you in every step, and then go to
work, he will give you the path that you need to follow.

I love The Lord with everything that I am, and that is something at I
have learned from my mission. I know that He is truly there in every
step of the way. If you don't believe me, find out for yourself! Put
it to the test, have faith in him. Have enough desire and faith to at
least experiment upon His word (Alma 32:27).

I love you all so much!

Elder Bloxham - Hello!!!!!!

This week has been so amazing!!!!!!! Things are just going so great and it's so fun. We got transfer calls today, and Elder Rose is leaving and i'm staying in the Boro!!!! YAAYY!! I'm super pumped because Springboro is the best area in the whole dang mission!! Everyone is great, and i'm excited to baptize these families :)
Stevan has been doing so well! He is progressing towards the 8th of March for baptism, and we also have Sam Soward on date for the 8th. Sam and his mom came to church for the first time this sunday (his mom is less active) and it was the most amazing sacrament meeting i've ever been too. They were privileged to be at this one! But we showed sam the baptismal font after church and he got to walk down inside it, and told us he wanted to be baptized. His grandpa is going to fly in from salt lake to perform the ordinance! AMAZING!!!!
But at Sacrament, Brother Layton (moved here a couple months ago from Herriman) gave the most amazing talk on God the Eternal Father. He talked about how when he was growing up he always thought of God as this almighty being that held a lightning bolt just waiting for him to mess up then zap him. But no, that is wrong he says. God is a loving, and most gracious Father. He loves us so deeply that we cannot understand. Knowing that he is a God of Love really brings me peace. The Spirit that i feel each day, and the miracles that happen, allows me to KNOW that he lives. He watches us each day, with an outstretched hand, wanting to help us up when we have fallen. The spirit was so strong when Brother Layton was speaking. There was so much peace in that Chapel, and it has changed my mission.
I invite everyone to gain that loving relationship with our Father in Heaven. He loves us so much and just wants us to ask him for help. Prayer is the way we can do that. Just talking to him, and feeling his love. He wants us to talk with him, so allow yourself to fall to your humble knees and ask him for forgiveness. We can all be made whole through the Eternal power of the Atonement of Jesus Christ, and it is available to everybody. :)

"And my Father sent me that I might be lifted up upon the cross; and after that I had been lifted up upon the cross, that I might draw all men unto me, that as I have been lifted up by men even so should men be lifted up by the Father, to stand before me, to be judged of their works, whether they be good or whether they be evil" 3 Nephi 27: 14
I have grown to love this scripture so deeply because of the love Jesus Christ has for all of us. He didn't have to do it, and he allowed his brothers and sisters to lift him up on the cross because he knew of the plan our Loving Father in Heaven has for us. Heavenly Father and his Son Jesus Christ live, and love us. They are always there for us! :)
I love you all and i'm so thankful for the support each day!!
Godspeed

Hermana Bloxham - Inwood!

Hey guys!

Wow, it's been a crazy week! Transfers got cancelled Wednesday
because it was snowing so much and moved to Thursday. So I came down
to Manhattan on Thursday afternoon! I'm living in Manhattan, can you
believe that!? This week has been awesome! We've been doing a lot of
walking, which I am not in shape for. ;) they just had two baptisms in
the last couple of weeks to a month. One is named Eduardo, who is
super awesome! He is 12! And the other one is Jorge, who I haven't met
yet... We also have an awesome investigator named José. He is super
awesome! We have been teaching him the commandments, and he is just
accepting them and doing it. He came to an appointment walking through
a snow storm to the church! He is super sweet!

Yesterday we went down to china town! My first time! We went down and
had interviews with all of the sisters down there and got to know them
all. It was pretty fun! There are 7 sisters down there and lots of
elders too. It's crazy how many there are in such a small area! But
they love it down there! I'll be learning a little bit of Chinese now
haha. So I'll be going on splits with them and with our roommates every
cycle, which will be super fun!

So you guys remember sister Liao? My roommate from the Bronx? She's my
roommate again! She is so cute haha. She says hi! My other roommates
name is sister Rodriguez, she's Mexican haha. But she doesn't speak
Spanish... She is awesome though! We are going to make some good
Mexican food together! My companion is named sister Wankier. She is
from Utah! We came out to the mission together! She was in the same
district as sister Brog in the MTC!

On Friday we have a sisters conference in Scarsdale for all of the
sister missionaries in the whole mission! It's going to be so awesome!

Elder Bloxham - Hello!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! From the BORO

I want to start this off by saying that Sister Bloxham is a sister training leader!!!!! chhawwhoooo! Nice job jess, that's so awesome!
This week has been absolutely amazing! We are teaching like crazy and our testimonies have been stretched for the amount of testifying we've been doing! The book is true people! haha :)
Something that i've really figured out while being out on my mission is that everything happens with the spirit. I think i've mentioned this last time but it's so true! The spirit will change a life faster than anything. Promise :)
Stevan has accepted baptism!!!!!! We took him to a baptism on friday and he told us he felt the spirit and wants to be baptized! We set a date of March 8th, because that is Elder Rose's birthday, but we think it might be sooner, we'll see :) The people in springboro are just so nice! it makes me so happy to see normal people (not daytonites) that will hold actual conversations with us! I love it!!!! People know how to keep commitments, and people know how to listen. It's great!
Transfers are in a week... Man, this has been so so so fast!!!! This next week is going to be awesome because we potentially could put about 4 or 5 people on date. WOW!!! We also have awesome families that are progressing! Families are the best!!
I love you all so so very much! My prayers are with you all the time!
Trust in the Lord and everything will be ok. Love everyone and if you don't love them, serve them!
Godspeed!!

Hermana Bloxham - Transfers!

The whole Zone!
Hey everybody!

I'm getting transferred! Anybody guess where?! Washington heights! In
other words Dominican heights haha. I'm going back down to the city!
Yyyyyes! I have also been called as a Sister Training Leader! It's so
crazy! I had the chance to say goodbye to all of the amazing people
that I got to know here in White Plains and it was super sad haha. The
people here have definitely shaped my life for the better into what it
is now. I feel so blessed to have been able to meet them and get to
know them all so well in this little branch. I am also very excited
about the new calling I have received! As a Sister Training Leader I
will be in charge of a group of sisters, to make sure they are all
doing well and help them with anything they need. It's basically like
a zone leader for sisters. It's an awesome opportunity to serve and
also to learn a lot about myself, so I am super excited but nervous at
the same time.
My new companion is named Sister Wankier. She came into the mission
with me and her trainer trained Sister Cole as well, so she is my
mission aunt haha. I am honestly so excited for everything that is
happening right now! Our roommate here Sister Mitchell is going down
to my old area! I'm so excited for her! Ah, it just reminds me of how
much I loved those people down there in Olmstead!

Well, as of right now we are snowed in and are waiting to hear when
and where we will meet up with our new companions.. All I know is I
won't be grounded anymore in the city! Such a blessing! Haha.

I don't have much else to tell you about today, but I love you all
sooo much and I hope you have another amazing week!

Les quiero mucho!

Love,

Hermana Jessica Bloxham :)

Elder Bloxham - AWESOME WEEK!!!!!!!!!!!

This week was so amazing!!!! Oh my gosh! We lead the mission in member present lessons, with 21, and we have 4 people working towards a baptism!! Mckenzie and Mikky Pham, and Sam and Sydney Soward. They are all doing great, especially the Pham girls!

We showed the Pham girls the baptismal font this sunday and invited them to be baptized on the 15th of February. They said yes, but they are going to talk to their dad about it. Mckenzie is so excited about how she is able to get her sins washed away and receive the gift of the Holy Ghost. It's amazing to see the spirit work within these young people! I've got it figured out... Nobody cares about Elder Bloxham, Elder Rose, or whatever missionary teaches. All they care about is how they feel. Now, i have forgotten about Elder Bloxham as well! The Spirit is all that matters. Feeling the spirit, making decisions by the spirit, and teaching by the spirit. Short, meaningful lessons that invite the spirit, and then commit when the spirit is the strongest. State the commitment, invite them to keep it, then say a prayer and leave while the spirit is the strongest. Then when we leave, they want that spirit to be with them always, hence the reason we do it!!! BAPTISM!!!!!!! I love it, and that has allowed us to teach more people and to see the succes!
I love this mission so much because it has allowed me to become aware of the Spirit. God lives, and Jesus Christ is at the head of the church. I know it. The Lord invites everyone to repent and come closer to him. And we do this by reading the scriptures, going to church, and having heart felt, relationship building, prayers. I know that if you do these things you will find peace and witness miracles to happen!!!
I love you all so so very much!!! Thank you for the continual support!
Godspeed
